Gather in the greenhouse at Artisan’s Garden in Sooke for this year’s festive mini photo sessions. Inspired by cozy winter greenscapes, the scene is styled to feel timeless, natural, and full of holiday charm.
These sessions are perfect for families, couples, individuals, and even your well-mannered pups. They’re designed not only for beautiful holiday cards, but for the kind of joyful, heartfelt images you’ll want to hold onto for years to come. This year’s set will feature even more trees and a reclaimed wooden bench, creating a cozy forest feel in the warmth of the greenhouse.
Wear casual knitwear, matching pyjamas, awkward holiday sweaters, or your go-to weekend layers. The scene will be styled for the holidays, but personal touches are always welcome. If your little one has a special teddy, ornament, or Santa hat, we’ll happily incorporate it into the moment.
There are extraordinary people in our community and we could all use a pick me up on occasion.
Whether it's due to financial need, someone going through a hard time, or a person who gives selflessly and you'd like to give back to them, myself and Artisan's Garden are giving away three mini sessions this year.
Visit the nomination page for further details and to nominate someone you know.

Amy Lobb is a wonderful woman and truly a professional in her field. She was instantly able to put my family at ease, and capture some captivating photographs. I will treasure them forever. I simply cannot recommend her enough!

In general for photoshoots, I typically make the following recommendations: limit the amount of black (absorbs light) and fluorescents (reflects the colour back onto your skin). Patterns are lovely but large logos and graphic images are best to avoid. I’m always a fan of natural colours (white, cream, tan, brown, blue/denim) and soft hues, but honestly, whatever reflects you is most important!
Because these minis are for the holidays, feel free to wear anything festive or seasonal. Whether that means a Christmas dress or awkward Christmas sweater, it's up to your hearts desire!
Yes! Please have them on leash and don't forget to pack them some treats.
YES! I have done this for a few couples throughout the years at my mini sessions. Reach out after booking and I'll help you plan what to bring with you on the day.
I don't offer one-off mini sessions, as that would be the equivalent to a full session. If you'd like to book a full session at the convenience of your schedule and desired location, please send me an email to [email protected]
The $50 deposit is required to reserve your spot and is non-refundable.
Please reach out to me ASAP so I know. I can offer your session fee as credit to a future photo shoot, less any out-of-hand expenses I took on specific to your booked session.
I make a broad selection of photos from your session, edit them, and then send them to you via an online gallery. This will be sent within 10 days of your photo session. You're able to share this gallery if you choose to and you download whichever photos you like best. The gallery allows you to purchase extra photos or print products, if you want to.
If it's a blemish you woke up with or a scratch across your child's cheek, then yes I can do basic touch ups to your photos. However I will not recreate body parts, slim waistlines, add makeup, or adapt what you're wearing because you realised you didn't like it. Please bring tissues, wipes, or even a lint roller if you have a white fuzzy dog and you chose to wear all black. Let's have you looking your best before we press the shutter (and yes, I will let you know if a nose needs wiped or a shirt straightened if anything is looking too distracting!).
About Amy
I love to be outdoors photographing people and landscapes. Light and location are my muse and I'm a keen observer of the world. I hope to freeze memories, capture the in between and otherwise forgotten moments.
I launched my professional photography career in 2008. Then in 2011, I completed a commercial photography degree from RMIT University in Melbourne Australia. Over 6.5 years in Australia, I was able to fine tune my skills, assist industry leaders, and learn about photography on an international scale.
Since returning to Canada in 2015, I have been actively photographing families on Vancouver Island and in other parts of British Columbia. I'm less focused on posed images, but enjoy natural and playful sessions. I find this makes everyone being photographed feel more comforable. But don't worry, we'll still aim to get a few family photos "for the grandparents."
